Nemours Family Zone


The Nemours Family Zone is THE place for children, parents and grandparents to learn and develop their tennis skills. Youth programs on the 36 ft and 60 ft. courts a re committed to developing the athlete, player and person in a dynamic environment.  Through a progressive pathway, players will be challenged to reach their full potential and most importantly, have FUN and develop a passion for tennis.  Adult and Adult/Child programs on the Family Zone courts offer the opportunity for families to enjoy the great sport of tennis together.

2018 Spring Break Camps- Red & Orange Ball (Ages 5-10)

Join us in the Family Zone for the Spring Break Tennis Camp.  Our program will include instruction by our National Campus staff with play based activities, all with an emphasis on tennis FUNdamentals.  Players will be grouped by age and ability level within the camp.

Family Time (ages 3-4, Adult/Child)

Interactive adult and child playtime that introduces fundamental athletic, movement skills for tennis and all sports.  Parents/Adults – bring your tennis shoes – we want you to join in the fun on court!  Use of red felt and red foam balls on 36 ft. court. Racquet size: 17-19 inches

Red Ball Big Kids (ages 4-5)

Players will develop skills to lay the foundation for serve, rally, and score. Tennis FUNdamentals are the focus. Through engaging activities, players will develop sending, receiving and racquet handling skills as well as their ABCs (agility, balance, coordination). Use Red Ball on 36 ft courts.  Racquet size: 17-21 inches

Red Ball Club (Ages 6-8)

Players will develop basic srve, rally, and score skills. Engaging partner activities and games are designed to build a player’s foundation in all tennis strokes and continue to develop athletic skills for tennis. Players will be grouped by age/ability within each program. Use of red balls on 36 ft. court.  Racquet size: 19-23 inches

Red Ball Plus (Ages 7-8)

For players progressing from Red Ball Club and have demonstrated basic serve, rally, and score competencies. Players will develop skills to play from all areas of the 36 ft. red ball court. Focus is on developing a strong technical foundation for a complete game and further improving use of spin, direction, and tactics. Players are encouraged to participate in Match Play, Junior Team Tennis, and/or entry level tournaments. Coach approval required for registration.
Racquet size: 19-23 inches

Big Shots (Ages 9-10)  

This is designed for beginning players or those with limited tennis experience. Players will develop basic serve, rally, and score skills. Engaging partner activities and games are designed to build a player's foundation in all the tennis strokes and continue to develop athletic skills for tennis. Use of red ball on 36 ft. courts. Orange balls introduced as players progress. Racquet size: 23-25 inches

Big Shots Plus (Ages 9-10)  

For players transitioning from Big Shots program. Players will further develop serve, rally, and score skills to make transition to 60 ft. courts and Orange Ball Club. Focus is on improving technique in all strokes as well as building athletic skills for tennis. Use of red and orange balls on 60 ft court. Racquet size: 23-25 inches

Orange Ball Club (Ages 8-10)

For payers transitioning from Red Ball Plus or Big Shots programs. Players will further develop technique needed for groundstrokes, serves, and net play on the 60 ft court. Use of spin, consistency, and transition skill are a focus. Participation in Play Days, Junior Team Tennis, and USTA Florida Level 9 and Level 8 Tournaments are encouraged. Use of orange ball on 60 ft court. Racquet size: 23-25 inches

Orange Ball Plus (Ages 8-10)

For players who are regularly participating in Junior Team Tennis and USTA Florida Level 8 and Level 7 tournaments. Players will develop more advanced technique and tactics on the orange court. Coach approval required for registration. .
Use of orange ball on 60 ft court.
Racquet size: 23-25 inches

Friday Night Team Match Play- Red Ball

This is team-based, social match play for players in our Red Ball Club and Red Ball Plus programs. Players will have an opportunity to participate in competition in a friendly environment surrounded by our National Campus coaches and friends they train with. Coach approval required for registration.

Friday Night Team Match Play- Big Shots, Big Shots Plus 

This is team-based, social match play for players in our Big Shots and Shots Plus programs. Players will have an opportunity to participate in competition in a friendly environment surrounded by our National Campus coaches and friends they train with. Coach approval required for registration.

Orange Ball Match Play (Ages 8-10)

Match Play sessions are designed to complement instructional programs and will focus on developing player'scompetitive skills in both singles and doubles play. Coaches will provide feedback during play and develop player's ability to apply technique, strategy, and tactics for competition. Ability to serve, rally and score on the orange court is required.

Play Tennis Fast - Nemours Family Zone

Designed for the new or returning adult player to learn tennis basics in a fun environment.  On the Family Zone’s 36 ft. and 60 ft. courts, players are able to serve, rally and score as quickly as possible while developing their fitness and skills.  Red and Orange balls used to facilitate learning.  Racquet size: 25-27 inches.
